Exciting that you are joining a Generation Global video conference. Here are some tips to help you prepare.
🌊 Get Ready
Once your video conference is confirmed (check your dashboard or confirmation email), you can visit the video conference page and check out the agenda to see what’s planned. Complete the module learning if you haven’t.
đź’» Joining the Meeting:
On the day, click the Zoom link on the video conference page about 15-30 minutes before the dialogue starts.
You’ll be placed in a waiting room first, and our technical team will let you in once everything’s set. While you wait, rename your Zoom profile to show your first name and country - this helps technical support know who’s in the room.
If you have any trouble joining, email our tech support (contact detail on the confirmation email) or the support centre for the video conference.
📍 Where Can You Join From?
You can join using a computer, phone or tablet - anywhere you have Internet, however in an environment without background noise or distraction.
If your teacher booked you in, they might organise for you to join from your classroom - just double-check with them.
🗣️ During the Video Conference
Make sure your camera is on all time.
Only you (and your teacher, if you’re in class) should be able to see your screen - no other adults, please.
Recording, taking photographs, or screenshots of the video conference is not permitted. For your safety, do not share your email address or social media handles during the session.
If you’re worried about your safety at any time, visit our safeguarding page or directly message the facilitator and technical support during the session.
Got Questions? We’re here to help!
Looking forward to seeing you in the dialogue!
